Exploratory sessions are complementary and an investment of both your time and mine. It’s important for us to take the time to determine that you’re in the right place and if we are the right match for each other. Our coach and client relationship requires a special kind of synergy. You need to determine if you feel comfortable with me to to open up and know that I get you. In turn, I need to discern that you’re someone serious about making the commitment required to make changes in your life and/or career. This conversation, along with any future ones we have, are confidential. Confidentiality is a part of the ethics I abide by as an International Coach Federation credentialed coach.
If you are an organization, it gives us time to talk about what is going on and who the key players are, so that we can create some possible courses of action.
We will set a day and time that works best for us to talk for approximately 30 – 60 minutes via a phone or video call. You’ll want to make sure you are in a location where you can speak freely and without distraction so that you are fully present and can get the most out of the experience. Even though it’s convenient to chat while driving, I don’t do these exploratory calls while you’re operating a vehicle for your safety.
The conversation we are going to have is more thoughtful than an average conversation. For example, it’s different than a conversation where you share your problems with a friend or colleague who will either jump in and vent with you (and nothing ends up changing post the phone call) or someone who just doesn’t understand what you are going through. We will take a few minutes to get to know each other on a personal level before we dive in; However, the questions I ask are thought provoking and might sometimes cause emotion or clarity that you did or didn’t expect. Ultimately, the idea is for you to get an experience of what it would be like for us to work together and for me to get to know what your biggest challenges and goals are.
Sometimes we’ll discover we are a wonderful fit and will be excited to work together. We’ll go over next steps, including session dates and time as well as your financial investment. Other times, we’ll decide you’re not in the right place and need some other kind of structure or support. These sessions are complimentary, with no obligation for you to continue or a hard sell. At the very least, they are a way for me to share what I do with others and expand my reach. I am certain you’ll leave with superior value that will be practical help for you.
Coaching is an investment of your time, energy, and finances. I can’t make the decision for you, but I certainly can provide insights and guidance as you determine if it’s the right course for you.
I look forward to connecting!
